Jasmin Barnett is an educator, strategist, writer, speaker, and leadership development professional whose work sits at the intersection of leadership, literacy, professional development, community impact, and organizational strategy.

For more than a decade, Jasmin has created programs, partnerships, and resources designed to help young people, emerging professionals, families, and mission-driven organizations build confidence, strengthen communication, expand opportunity, and navigate the systems and environments that shape their lives.

Her work began with youth development and has evolved into a broader body of work spanning professional development, business etiquette, literacy, writing, nonprofit strategy, speaking, and community leadership.

2013 — Building the Foundation
Jasmin founded Ladies in Training, creating mentoring, leadership, confidence-building, education, career exposure, etiquette, and personal development opportunities for girls and young women.

2018 — Recognized for Community Leadership
The Skillman Foundation named Jasmin one of 50 People Who Represent the Heart of Detroit, recognizing her commitment to helping Detroit youth expand their exposure, confidence, and sense of possibility.

2020 — Expanding Through Writing and Media
Jasmin published Quarantine Poetry, adding authorship and storytelling to her body of work. That same year, she was featured on Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien in a national conversation about the political power of Black women voters.

2022 — Professional Development Becomes a Business
Jasmin expanded the Ladies in Training model into professional development and business etiquette programming, teaching students and emerging professionals how to strengthen communication, professional presence, networking, leadership, workplace readiness, and confidence.

2025 — Expanding Into Higher Education
Her professional development work expanded into higher education through partnerships with community colleges, including programming for both students and staff focused on professional growth, communication, leadership, and workplace readiness.

2026 — Leadership · Literacy · Impact
Today, Jasmin brings her full body of work together through Leadership · Literacy · Impact—a platform that includes leadership and professional development programs, literacy and youth education, books and writing, nonprofit strategy, speaking, consulting, and media.

Across her work, Jasmin has reached 1,000+ young people, trained 400+ students, partnered with 20+ schools and two community colleges, worked with 10+ businesses and organizations, and written 500+ grants with an approximately 75% success rate.
